Peugeot 504 Coupé – 1969 – Early Example – 1.8 Injection
Some classics stand out for their performance, others for their design. The Peugeot 504 Coupé is all about style.
This example dates from 1969, the launch year of the 504 Coupé, making it one of the early cars of the model. Its elegant body was designed by Pininfarina and combines typical French refinement with Italian proportions. More than fifty years later, the design still looks beautifully balanced and timeless.
The car was purchased near Paris in 2015 by its current owner. He enjoyed this French classic for more than ten years, but the time has now come to pass it on to a new enthusiast. The car currently comes with Belgian registration documents.
Under the bonnet is the 1.8-litre fuel-injected engine, perfectly suited to the relaxed character of the 504 Coupé. This is not a nervous sports car, but a true classic Grand Tourer: smooth, comfortable and made for covering distance.
French elegance inside and out
The light blue metallic paint suits the elegant lines of the Coupé beautifully. Inside, the car features a lovely cloth interior, which was recently completely renewed. The specification perfectly preserves the atmosphere this car deserves: stylish, warm and unmistakably representative of a luxurious French coupé from the late 1960s.
Comfort is one of the great strengths of the 504 Coupé. The spacious seating position, supple suspension and relaxed engine make it a classic that remains genuinely enjoyable over longer distances. A weekend in the Ardennes, a trip to Champagne or simply a sunny Sunday drive: this is a classic that invites you to actually use it.
The car has also been well cared for mechanically in recent years. A file containing recent maintenance work and invoices is included, and the car has proven itself to be a reliable and enjoyable travelling companion.
An early style icon
The early 504 Coupés have a special charm today. They show the original design in its purest form and belong to an era when Peugeot built elegant and comfortable touring cars without excess.
This 1969 Coupé therefore combines many of the qualities we look for in a classic car: iconic design, an elegant interior, ease of use, reliability and enough comfort to truly enjoy driving it.
